Thumbs down How to retrieve an item from the air vent.

Lets just say a cigarette was dropped into the right set of vents on the top of my dashboard on accident.

I tried fishing it back out, but i think I may have pushed it down further.

How do I go about opening it up to retrieve my cigarette. I drive an '87 Wrangler.

i will try the vaccum thing here in a minute.

It's not really a "Cigarette" to say, its much more valuable than that.

I don't think it's a Marlboro aor a Newport down there.

My bet is on it being a slightly more exotic blend.

Just turn the defroster on high, roll up the windows and breathe deep.

It's simple. Just drive your Jeep to Mexico and back again. At the border the dog will sniff it and the nice people who work for the Border Patrol will carefully extract it using crowbars and sawzalls.

Problem solved.

Winch your jeep upside down in a large strong tree. Then (using safety stands of course) support the jeep in that position. Now you can crawl under there & easily get it out.

I am afraid it doesn't even come close to the "Lake" incident being tracked in the TJ threads. Let's just say it's a candidate for the Darwin Awards.

I'm glad its all your second favorite thread, but I still need some help.

How do I go about taking the whole air vent housing apart. I don't have a hose that is small enough, or long enough. I took apart the dash, and tried to to get in there, but I can't see how.

Just pry the cluster guages off with your bong.
