That sucks. I would have probably done the same thing. Nice and slow then you think "hey that wasn't so bad"....uh oh...

Also, did I see some concealed carry there? You printed a little when you when to attach the recovery strap. Good luck in getting everything backup and running.

Even big kids like to play in puddles. Hope you get it back running without too much effort. Hydrolocking can get expensive.

I haven't opened up oil filter for analysis for probably about 14 years, but figured that the submerging of the YJ was reason enough. Upon macro-shot inspection, you'll see particulate. I tested a lot of it with a rare earth magnet, but it wasn't magnetic. Cleaning some of the debris off with brake cleaner showed none of it looked metallic. So what we have here is a Purolator Pure 1 oil filter (one of the best for the money IMO) doing its job of protecting the motor. No clue how much of this got in there (that big of particulate past the rings? Possible with the amount of water in there I guess), and no clue how much of this made it past bearings and such. But the filter wasn't clogged, so I doubt the bypass was activated. Thought some of you would be interested in seeing the views.I haven't opened up oil filter for analysis for probably about 14 years, but figured that the submerging of the YJ was reason enough.
