I just traded my soft top for a hard top

This was literally a trade. I backed up my jeep to his and we swapped the tops and the doors. Price wise, I got the better end of the deal but the top I gave him was much newer than the hard top and doors I received.

My doors are still sitting on my garage floor though. I plan on stripping them of all the rubber and panels tomorrow, wet sanding them, then giving them a nice new coat of bed liner. Their blue doesn't go well with my red jeep.

I'll post pictures in the morning.

Just curious, did you remember to include the soft top mounting rail that goes over the windshield so he can mount his soft top? When I put my hardtop on, I overlooked the fact that I needed to remove it.

Sell your newly aquired hard top for $1k and buy a softtopper; you'll still have $$$ left over for other mods

Nah, I prefer the hard top. I am trying to make it a bit quieter inside. I am thinking of adding in some insulation to make it quieter and control the temperature a bit. I meant to take pictures today but it didn't happen. I'll do it tomorrow, after I get my speakers installed.

I did include the front rail but we found out his holes for the front rail are all too large for the screws I had on mine. I imagine he had to go get some larger screws. He also will have to drill out the mounting holes for the two front side mounts. We didn't have a drill at the site where we performed the swap. I still need to drill out the holes above the windshield on mine for the hard top.

the hinges stiffened up just a little on the hatch on my hard top, and when i closed it the glass exploded out of it. I've really wanted a softopper since I got the Jeep 3 years ago, does any one think the hard top is still worth anything? I'm sure the hatch could be easily replaced, I was planning on building a new hatch myself, but if I could sell it and get a softopper I would rather do that. what do y'all think?

If you have the original YJ hard top and the piece that was on the bottom of the glass, you can easily get glass. I had a time with mine, and got the CJ-7 rear hatch and glass. It was a pain. The bottom piece is almost impossible to find
