Idle and Brake issues

Hey guys, I haven't been on in a while. But I went out in the mud pretty much all night the other night and my idle is stuck at about 2k rpm. I've checked the throttle cable and the butterfly in the TB, everything seems normal but it just won't lower.

Also, my brakes are giving out. I pulled my wheels and tires and my pads are good. I also have stainless brake lines. It happened all of a sudden when my idle started acting funny. When I depress the brakes, there isn't any 'bite' and I have to press all the way to the floor to barely be able to stop.

All suggestions are apprecited, she's been parked since last weekend

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak. Check your vacuum hoses around your carb, intake and booster. This will effect both.

Yes - Vac leak is where I would look- brake booster should have a large vac line going to it.

i dont know if this applies to jeep engines, but in the durango it's just a matter of getting a wrench that fits on the nut of the tensioner, than "connecting" another wrench, kind of like if it were a chinese key, and using it as leverage to move/push the tensioner temporarily out of the way until you release the wrench.

kind of like these two wrenches, but using opposite sides.

like this!
