I'm new to this... bear with me! I have a question :-)

Little Background Before My Question...

I Just bought a 91 Wrangler 2.5lt 5 Speed... Yay... I know, I know... I've read so many bad things about the 4 banger and the advantages of having a six, and then I have read so many good things on this forum about having a 4 compared to a six... :-) Well... I got the 2.5 and I am happy... It's bone stock dry right now and I plan on fixing it up all by myself. KEEP IN MIND... I have never ever worked on cars in my life, so getting my first set of mechanic tools 5 months ago and changing my oil and spark plugs on my Eclipse was a big step. Since then I have changed my own motor mounts on and little things here and their thanks to the help of my good friend Google.

So here's is my question... any help/advice is greatly appreciated.

I plan on putting a 2.5" suspension lift kit with a 1" body lift.

What problems/extra mods will I have to make to achieve this? (It's my understanding if I go with a 4" lift, I would have to do a TON of extra stuff to it.)

I plan on running 32" tires.

Well again, thanks very much for ready the post and your time.

It's cool that your are diving right in to this Jeep thing!!! I have a 93 with 2.5 suspension lift. No mods were necessary and I run 31x10.50's. I am adding a 1 inch body lift. not much to modify there either, other than either motor mounts or fan shroud. I like my 2.5 too! Good luck....

@Charley24 ... Awesome... Thanks for the reply! I think I'll pick up the 2.5 suspension kit in addition to the 1"BL.

I'lll keep my fingers crossed hopefully I don't run into any problems.

@95YamJam... Great Build.... It looks like you really know what your doing... Hopefully one day i'll be to that point, I was just happy when I googled how to change oil on my car! But this is a whole new beast...Ohh ya, As i skimmed through your thread, I noticed you talked about getting the inside of your tub Lined.... The first thing I did with my jeep was Rhino Line the whole interior (I have the hook up with a Rhino Linings Shop out here in CA). Made the world of difference on the appearance. Other than that I have done a few small things, new mirrors, pocket flares, and running boards.

One tip I would give to you is... Be prepared for bolts that are so rusted on that you might have to cut off.

Welcome to the wonderful world of throwing good money after bad

Seriously though, it's awesome that you're jumping in and learning, trying things, etc. That's how you learn. I'm a novice myself and learning a bit as I go.

Like banks said, be prepared for stuff to be so rusted that it has to be heated or cut off. I know I would hate my life a lot more if I didn't have a torch and a grinder.

Thats great! Looks like your on your way. I have yet to get my tub lined. LOL! It's pretty simple but I seem keep putting it off. I want to take my cage out and do the new cage at the same time so that probably why i keep doging it.

Keep us posted!

lining looks good. as for lift I just installed rc 2.5 lift. with track bars removed and sway bar unhooked I had to extend brake lines. I still need to install transfer drop, right now with rear suspension hanging driveshaft binds. I went with 2.5 lift because I thought no extra mods needed but I was wrong. guess depends what you do with it when your done. just letting ya know my side.

Oh give it a little time, you'll find your RC 2.5 lift will be less than 1"

They're budget quality springs as of late, so while they will work for you for the meantime, you should save up for an OME 2.5" lift. Basically the best lift out there that provides amazing ride quality right from the get-go as well as having a LONG lasting spring life.

Otherwise the Jeep looks good.

@banks316 & denisbaldwin... Luckily for me, I haven't seen any rust problems with it so far... Although I have run into some TOUGH bolts to get off.... I think the best investment I have made so far was a 1' 1/2" steel pipe from hope depot that I use as a "Breaker Bar"... It's been AMAZING!

@gohounds... Thanks for the heads up... I'll definitely be keeping that in mind.

@Xpress... So what your really saying is go with the RC 4 inch lift so I can achieve 2.5 inches of lift??? JK... Thanks for the heads up... I'll take a look into OME
