In over my head... 8.8 swap! Need some new friends!
Man I really need some local jeep friends! It sure would be nice to have some help when it comes to "projects", or even some bro's to go trail riding! Maybe if I had some friends I wouldn't be stuck where I am right now.
Sitting in my garage with a broken rear axle. 8.8 sitting right beside it. Been that way for a month trying to find some help. Got to cut the perches and switch them around, but Can't afford taking the axles to a shop, garages are ridiculous these days to weld, or cut, or do anything lol
Im not to proud to admit when im beat! If I don't get some help, my jeep is gonna be stuck in my garage for a few years, and I don't want to do that to her! I really want to make it to uwarrie this season!
So I beg of you, if you love tinkering, tweaking, and fixing, and have a little time to help out a fellow jeeper in distress, please, get a hold of me! PM, Email, Smoke Signal, hell I don't care! lol I NEED YOUR HELP!
done a few swaps, going to be putting a 8.8 in a cherokee soon. so what so you need to know and where are you.
Well actually, need a buddy that can weld/cut, Im stuck at the part where you swap the perches on the 2 axles. Also someone who I can wheel with from time to time once the jeep is up and running again.
Let me be clear, I am in GREAT NEED of someone who can assist me, but I am also looking for some chill dudes to wheel with. Either one would be great to have!
I just realized that this isn't just a North Carolina Forum, lol I googled NC JEEP FORUM when I stumbled onto this place, but lol now I realize that I stumbled to the "LOCAL" section of this site, but I posted to the main section. Man Im such a noob!
We've got a NC forum here if you want to check it out. Might help. I'm putting an 8.8 under my TJ. It's not hard, so don't get discouraged. Just take your time getting the old mounts off and ground down smooth. Then just check around your area for an off-road shop. Make friends with some of the people who frequent the place. Also, see if there are any off-road clubs in the area. Jeepers are friendly people for the most part and are usually willing to help for a sixer or two. Surely someone in your area knows how to weld!!
Americans sleep safely in their beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do them harm...

I come in peace. I didn't bring artillery. But I'm pleading with you with tears in my eyes, if you f**k with me, I'll kill you all.....
I hope so CD, Ive been staring at the axle for a month just waiting for something to automagically happen. Time to get serious, I have to get her back on the road! I have saved up all the cash I need for the conversion, but I just do NOT want to do this alone. It seems pretty easy... Once the welding is done lol
