Insurance Options

I'm looking at a 95 Wrangler (http://www.wranglerforum.com/f8/95-w...es-255467.html) and I'm baffled at insurance costs. I'm 27 with no ticket/clean record. Quoted $20 cheaper then my 07 Grand Prix GXP which is and will be my DD. The Jeep is to have some fun with friends. Sold my truck to buy a car and hated it ever since, but love the car... Anyway... I have to buy with loan and $70 a month for insurance for a 95 seems wrong. Anyone know of a place that treats 4x4 lovers with some love. 07 V8 = $90 but a 95 4x4 = $70... LOT MORE RISK with my car

It's considered and SUV. The insurance looks at the Jeep as less safe, no ABS, no airbag, rollover rate is much higher than your car! And all SUVs will be slightly higher from what I've found. When I was 19 and getting quotes I couldn't find any less than $160. I currently pay $35 monthly but I've been with my insurance for 10 years.

I'm with allstate and i'm 32. I pay about $40 for my 90 with expanded full coverage. Also keep in mind that a jeep is covered by most insurance plans when off road so if I roll my jeep it's covered. But that is only full coverage.

I'm in MI. Was talking to one of my coworkers and moved from Indiana to MI and he pays $1000 more because of the state we live in. So I may have to suck it up...

My insurance on my 1990 YJ is $30/month for liability.

Call elephant auto insurance. It has been the cheapest that I have found.

You folks pay way less then what the going rate is in Canada. I currently pay 103$ a month, thats full coverage plus collision. I've had insurance for about 20 years(and a 20 year licensed driver) as of August of this year (I was told it was to go down abit). No accidents that are my fault (only one back in 2000, again not my fault). No speeding tickets since 1998. Plus because I live up north away from a large city, its supposed to be lower because of that too...

My last vehicle was a 2000 model (mazda b3000) and was quoted last year that I would pay a few dollars a month more for my 2001 TJ for the same type of coverage. I think all insurance companies are a crock but that's my opinion.

Please note I shopped around to see what the best rate was and went with that policy with my broker.

For my 95 YJ I Pay $57 every six months for liability

$350 every six months for full coverage on my Wife's 2010 commander.

We both have perfect records.
No accidents at all or tickets or even warnings.
My 75 MGB is 40 every six but due to low monthly miles its lower

Allstate

We're in Oregon btw

The population of your city will make a difference in insurance rates too.. My rates dropped significantly when I moved out of the county I spend 90% of my drive time in.

Ckeck with your agent It sounds like you may be close to the age where the rate drops a lot . I know when my kids were under 25 the insurance was murder.

I'm 27 so the drop is already there. I guess I'm SOL. I'm calling around Monday to see what the best deal is.
