Question is this '65 CJ5 worth the $$ ?

Looking for a winter project to help with the cabin fever. I found a 1965 CJ5 which has a rebuilt 4 banger and 4 sp. 75K miles. It has no top, and needs a paint job, new seats and tires. He is asking $3500. I'd just use it as a project for the winter, and sell it next spring. Sound like a reasonable price ?

Too much money. If it had a 327 amc or whatever was the good motor at the time it would be a $2000 rig haha. I agree with $1500, that's if all the metal is there and not rusted.

Worth every penny. Not too many jeeps you can buy and have the pleasure of sitting on top of the gas tank.

Hey bob, you are a days drive away from me. Come up here this weekend and buy this jeep instead. 10 miles down the road from me.

1970 Cj 5

I'll even let you crash on my couch so you are rested for the next days drive home.

Thanks for the link, but I'm looking for something stock that still has a decent motor and running gear, cheap enough to spend some $$ on and make more $$ in the spring. Last year I bought my '88 for $2200 and fixed it up the way I wanted, and it is my keeper. Need something to work on in my shop to beat the winter blues

Three others that look like you could make some money on them. Especially the white one here. (Again, not mine.)
