I've known cars to smell bad when the oil needs a change, have you checked if you need new oil yet?

Start with an oil change, and then start looking at the vacuum hoses for dry rot and cracks. I picked up a 93 and it had the same concern as you described. How ever after replacing the vacuum hose boots, changing the oil and running a can of Sea Foam through the tank it ran great and the smell went away

Yes Do change all fluids and maybe a tun-up, If it has not be driven in years all the old oil leaks have soaked into the oil crude on every thing, it is going to Stink till it burns the oil back out and dries out again, Are You Can Clean The Engine, after the fluid change.

Like I was saying I got this jeep a few days ago, as I was looking at the engine I saw that oil was leaking from the distributor, rite where the it seats to the block.. I was wondering if there was an O ring there that needs to be replaced or what..

When you clean the outside make sure you protect the electronics and also the throttle body. After cleaning if the check engine light comes on and it starts missing go buy a throttle position sensor. Mounts on the side of the throttle body with 2 screws. I learned this the hard way.

If its pretty bad in your cab, if check your roll over valves on top of your gas tank, those grommets deteriorate, letting fuel vapor out, especially if its 20 years old
