Jesus fish removal

This is a serious question. My beautiful wrangler has had one of those silver Jesus fishes on the back of it for probably five years now, thank you dude who owned it before me.

Not that I hate Jesus or hate fish, but I really don't like any stickers or whatevers on my car. Was wondering if anyone has any idea if I pry it off tomorrow if it is going to take paint chips with it? Would rather leave it for five more years than ruin the paint.

Love,
Delta

Pray?

Just kidding. I think they sell sticker remover at auto parts stores, I would try some of that.

Dental floss and goo gone automotive, or lighter fluid. Slice it off with the floss, then clean up the residue. Wash, wax, good as new...

Gas works. I used that to get the lame stickers of mine when I got it. Dip a rag into you law mower or something the scrub at it. Try to peel it off then get the left over residue with a little more gas

It's a pretty big chunk of metal, wouldn't be too worried about peeling a sticker off with solvent. I like the dental floss idea, thanks everyone.

WD-40 works really well...saturate it and let it soak in for a couple hours. Spray it again. Then use one of the above methods for removing it...I like the dental floss/fishing line idea in conjunction with something to loosen the adhesive up.

Heat will soften the glue and make it easier to remove. Since your probably going to burn in Hell for removing it should pop right off.

Anybody who can't figure out how to take a sticker off shouldn't be driving a jeep.

He's right you know. There is a pre requisite to owning a Jeep, and that is sticker removal.

I like the holy water idea, but if that doesnt work...Try some fishing line to cut underneath it and then some laquer thinner or gasoline to remove any left over glue.

I've seen other jesus fish grow legs before...maybe it'll just walk off one day.

I think the best advice is probably the fishing line / dental floss idea. it'll cut right through that foam sticky backing.

Use a hair dryer to get it nice and hot to be able to peel it off. If any access glue stays on just use something to wipe it away or just use your finger to create that friction to rub it off. Thats what i did to a few badges that someone left on mine.

you are talking about the plastic kind, right? those things can be harder to get rid of than herpes.try the dental floss idea, if that is giving you a herd time hit the plaque with a blow dryer to soften up the adhesive, then try the dental floss again. goof-off or goo gone will remove the left over adhesive with out harming the paint. good luck.

after you get it off with the fishing line or floss and you still have trouble getting the glue off they sell plastic razor blades that you can scrape off the left over gunk with. i get mine at Auto Zone. I used to detail cars and thats what i used to do.

The hair dryer trick works. The first thing I do when I get a new vehicle is remove the dealer sticker. They don't pay for advertising, so they don't get it free.

If the heat won't work, you could always super glue a hook to it.
