Junkyard Seatbelt UPDATE

Originally posted by me: "Going today to the boneyard.
My YJ driver's side seatbelt works when it wants to work. Some mornings I have to drive with no seatbelt because it's tempermental.

So..anyone know off the top of their heads if I can tear one out of a 90's Cherokee? Or similar?

Thanks."

No replies, but that's OK it was a tough question.
Found a $100 Chinese I think Wrangler seat belt knockoff online but it will probably kill me.

Jeep dealer in the Verde Valley said he could "order a new one from Chrysler" and it would only cost me "around $246.00 not including installation." BS on that.

I remembered a Wrangler at a local boneyard and called the owner and asked if the Wrangler on the lot had it's seatbelts. He said yes.

15 BUCKS for the retractor if I bring my tools and pick it myself.

Around here junk yards cant sell seat belts. I even had one place tell me I could have the brake parts that I needed, said they could not sell them because they are a safety item. Might just have been they're policy but glad you found your belts.

just a light moment.............air craft safety harnesses are not acceptable in most states as they are not dot approved. good for an airplane but not a 4 wheeler. whoda thunk it?

Yeah Chief that's one that get's me everytime I think about it, 5 point harness's not allowed because of no DOT approval, yet it has to be 100X better than that sun faded, frayed, 21 year old belt in my heep that was.
