Just bought another Jeep

Attachment 70775

87 Wrangler. Theft recovery from the salvage sale here. Not 100% sure what I am going to do with it though. Mom and Dad are already blowing up my phone wanting it. May mod this one out and keep my 88 for a DD. Will be back to the shop this afternoon but so far what I found out is this.

1. 3 1/2 superlift spring lift
2. SYE but no rear driveshaft.
3. 4.2 5spd.
4 2-3" body lift
5. Crappy 31x10.5x15 tires.
6. Speedo and tach clustore missing
7. Misc other parts missing.

Love the green

Well last night I decided. Going to keep my blue 88 like it is and do the mods on the green one I wanted to do to the blue one.
Will pull the 4.2 out of the green one and put in my blue one. My motor in the blue jeep smokes real bad and burns quite a bit of oil.
Also going to use the 5spd out of the green one for my blue one since reverse pops out of my blue jeep.

So what am i going to do to the green one. I'll tell ya.

SOA with the 3 1/2 lift that is on it now.
Take out the 3" body lift.
Install a FI 351W out of a 93 Bronco
Install a New Process 4spd with a 1356 Ford T-case
Add some 37's on her and have fun.

Best of both worlds. A nice run around town jeep and then one I can go just about any place here in West Texas. Should be a fun project this winter and I will do a thread on it.

My DD has the peugeot (AKA POS) in it now. After I get the green jeep done I'll change my DD to the AX15. Can't do both of them right now. Wife would have a stroke, along with my bookeeper

Have a 8.8 explorer rear with 4.56 and ARB locker in stock. Going to do axle upgrades to the D30 and put an ARB or similar type of locker in the front. Or any other suggestions on the front?

So we are starting the mock up. Had some axles that were already converted to SOA so we put those on last night. Motor, trans and T-case is out and need to get my motor mount conversion for the 351W motor. Any recommendations on what brand and type to go with.

The Jeep I just bought also has a 3" body lift w/ no suspension lift. I do not like the way it looks. I could go for a 1" body at some point but probably no more. You said you're taking the 3" off, so, to get it back to stock, how do I go about doing that?

All a body lift is is rubber/poly spacers in between the body and frame. Take them out!

Jack up the body somehow then lower after they are all out? Will I need to get new bolts? Better to start in front or back, or either side?
