I've never done a poll on here, and I'm pretty sure I'm not doing it right, but here it goes-
1) KC or similar brand of round lights
2) a small light bar(pretty small, because I'm poor)
3) upgrade my current headlights
4) suggestions?
I will be attaching the lights to the front bumper. Please reply with one of the above numbers. If you select #4 please leave your suggestion in the reply. Thanks!
Also, I'm wanting more lights because they look cool, and I can't see anything when I'm driving around the mall parking lot at night(sarcasm).
Ok, thanks!

Well, I already messed up, but you get the idea. Thanks guys!

I'd either upgrade your headlights or go with a small light bar. If your wanting them for off road VS driving lights Def the light bar. Nothing wrong with round KC lights but if I were to add lights to my YJ (currently I don't have any additional lights) they wouldn't be round. The sort of trail riding / off roading I do a cheap light bar from eBay or Amazon would work fine. If I get some one day I want two small 4"cubes or 6" bars on the edges of my front bumper so they'd be facing outwards at a ~30 degree angle lighting up my perifial.

Option 1. I'm not a fan of led light bars. They just don't look right on a jeep of that that era. I grew up in the 80s and 90s and the jeeps I remember as a kid DIDN'T HAVE led light bars. A pair of rectangular leds might look alright.

lol, I won't be needing to wake people up or finding ships two miles off shore Tom! That's pretty impressive! What did the set up run you if you didn't mind me asking?

I sure am glad I don't need all that light, I just changed the stock for Silvania Silver Stars, and that's all I need for anything I do.

Has anybody upgraded their headlights and added some old school halogen lights? I'm just curious about what kind of light that would produce. Also, while searching around Craigslist I found a pair of KCs for $20. I think I'll pick them up Wednesday, that'll give me a feel for if I need more or not I think. If I do need more I'll go with a LED bar.

it would be nice if there were any wranglers in my state that were parting out/salvage yard. I'd probably just buy the whole thing for its parts. I'll try looking around salvage yards for fog lights off trucks.

Bigearl, also depends on how much work you want to do on the install. Want something easy to install? Is it gonna take mounts? How are you going to wire up the auxiliary lights? LED is the way to go for sure (round, square, rectangle). There are so many deals out their on led cubes & bars (and full kits). Just shop around (look for promo codes, etc) and have a game plan on your install and where you want to mount the lights.

Just remember watts are watts, but what is important is the drivers for the led's. The CREE drivers are very good and cheap. Also heat dissipation is a factor. But most led lights look the same as far as the cooling fins go (kinda an even playing feild). And the IP rating is important. Just some things to think about

As far as headlights go I'm gonna still run my sealed beams. One way to get pulled over around here is with led/hid headlights (that didn't come with your year model). I will already be standing out like a sore thumb.

I have under 500 in all my lights, mounts, hardware, wiring, relays & switches.

Hell, for an example: Tuff Stuff LED Light Bar Combo Kit, 50" LED lightbar, 20" LED lighttbar, 2X2 Lights

Game plan- install on the front bumper, easily removed if I don't like the way they look. I'm also worried that if I get brackets that mount to the windshield or hood and remove them they will ruin/rust the attachment points and ruin the paint underneath the bracket. I'll make a wiring harness, I've watched the bleepinjeep video a few times and it looks simple enough. I hadn't though about the change to the stock headlights being illegal, I'll look into it. And $500 seems kinda steep to me. Like I said before, I'd like some more light while driving to the duck blind early in the morning, or going catfishing at night, but I don't think I'll need to see into the next county.

solid advice, I just wanted to see what others had to say before finalizing my decision.

I stuck with the original look from the period. I upgraded to cibie e-code H4 headlight housings for a much more accurate light pattern. Normal 55/60 watt H4 bulbs, and a plug and play relay harness to up the power available to the bulbs. For the front bumper, i installed the factory hella round fogs off a TJ that were on craigslist for $20. Original period look but with all the light you need where you need it.

Square headlights, square offroad lights. Either a straight light bar or the Amazon LED cubes. For Wranglers, I like the individual lights (round for TJ square for YJ). Light bars look better on XJs in my opinion. On the old school Ford Broncos, International Scouts, and other offroad trucks, the big halogens on the front bumper and roof look sweet.

So I picked up the $20 KCs. I mounted and wired them about 15 minutes ago, and I'm just waiting for the sun to set to see if they put out enough light for me(I get the sense they will just from what I've seen in the light). Here's a picture, I'll upload one at night with them on.

Sylvania headlights are over rated. Probably the best you can run on stock wiring. But $50 a pair is outrageous for 55 watt low and 65 watt high beams. You can get hella h4 lights for $ 12 a pair that are 90 watt low 130 watt high beam . Put them in a pair of hella vision plus glass housings for $50 spend less than $50 on wiring and a couple relays, 2 or 3 hours of your time to make easy harness and adjust so you're not blinding people on low beam. Best bang for your buck. On high beam they are like having stealth kc highlights. On low are like daylight to the clean cutoff line, and sweep the ditches great. So $ 125 tax and all the light output is better than any over priced over marketed headlight bulb on the shelf hands down.

So you'd recomend replacing my stock headlights with the hella h4 lights? Will they fit in the grill openings?

Here's them at dusk. The picture doesn't really show it well, but the trees in the background are pretty well lit up, and they're over 200 yards away. I'm pretty pleased with these, I'll probably upgrade my stock headlights next.
