Little Help for a newbie

I haven't had to type that in years

Anyway, I bought a 94 YJ 2.5L project for my son that needed an engine. During the removal I noticed the engine mounts were shot so I ordered some stock ones.

I have a strong auto background, but didn't realize the stock pass. mount has a small lift plate with a single stud under it. The stock mount does not come with it and it is destroyed! Dealer has no idea what I'm talking about and don't seem to care either.

What is the correct name and where in the heck can I find one? Thanks for any help!

When I bought them from the dealer for my 92 2.5L the mounts came with the riser for the passenger side. It was also almost three times as thick!

If you want I can post a picture of it.

I appreciate the offer, but I just got back from welding up a new one.

During the factory build that riser has a punch hole in it to keep the mount from twisting while the nut is installed. It looks like that punch hole weakened the thin metal. I guess it can't handle the torque that little motor puts out.

Back to the assembly, should be driving it in a few hours.

Hey man, wlecome aboard! You will enjoy this site. The folks here are not at all nasty, and they allow NO personal attacks on threads. I still cruise the other site occasionally, but there seems to be a really congenial bunch here.

Betcha can't guess who I am!

Thanks for the welcome.

I'm a member of 2 other forums (1 motorcycle and 1 boating) and after spending a few weeks as a guest I decided this is a place to spend some time, just like the others.

I owned a few other Jeeps well before the online age. Back when it wasn't uncommon to make 20-30 calls to find someone that had your answer. By the time you talked to that person you made many new friends.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no old fart, but the local track said I can race in the Senior 1 division on my old Hodaka.

Darn straight I was talking to you Teriod. Other than yours having a black top, what's the big difference other than I ditched the HEI for a Blaster 2 and the old points and condenser system that actually works!

Figure it out now?
