Hello all. Longtime owner of a 1995 Wrangler YJ Rio Grande. The Jeep is dark green with half steel doors and diamond plate rear quarter panels. The hard top is black with the curved upper doors. The soft top is spice with square upper doors. I have top sliders for the hard top and spice zip-ups for the soft top.
It has always been challenging to hear the radio without blasting the neighborhood - even with a sound bar. Needless to say the hard top is quieter than the soft top. I recently put some large old stereo speakers on top of the rear wheel wells and bungeed them in place. The sound is great! The hard top conceals the speakers some and protects them from the weather. If I switch to the soft top the speakers would be good bait for thievery. With summer coming on I am planning on keeping the hard top and cracking the back glass for ventilation. I am also going to remove the doors & windows whenever possible. The half steel doors with the sliders are pretty heavy and do not store well in the back. I am looking for full soft doors that I can throw in the back for whenever it rains. They used to be pretty common on older jeeps but are rare for the YJ. Can anyone help????
I do not want to get the soft half doors and the soft windows.
Are you referring to the old style one piece full soft doors like on the old CJ's? If so, unless you find one that has been in storage for a long time you might not find anything like that. To my knowledge, Bestop and other manufactures only offer the two piece upper and lowers now, at least separately. Bestop still has the one piece doors as part of their CJ Tigertop package.
Strangely enough, I just got this little customer support PDF this morning. It's showing how our YJ doors match up with square or round YJ tops. It'll show which upper doors match your setup. Let me know if it helps or doesn't (seriously, I'm curious).
Chris is correct (as usual): we don't sell one piece doors anymore. Just lowers and uppers. Most people prefer this solution. Same weight really as a one piece, but tons more flexible. I don't track the competition all that closely, but I do not believe anyone sells one piece doors.
Man I wish someone still made FULL soft doors that would fit the YJ's for those days when you want to just put on something lite. Just like the ole CJ5 and CJ7 had! I would buy a set in a minute and so would several others I have crossed. Oh well.
you have a price? You can PM me if you still have them. I am located in GA. Looks like this might be a cheaper route for now. I have been trying my best to find a steel half door for the passenger side but no luck.
Dave,
Did you have any interest in selling those half doors which you were replacing? I have the same exact Jeep and was looking for some.
Thanks,
Scott
Finally got the doors out of the storage shed. They are Bestop 2-piece in black. They are in good shape with some small rust spots on the black metal frame. Ther are no tears in the fabric of windows. I can email pictures if anyone wants them. I'd like to get $225.00 for them. tonyrossman@att.net
