Looking To Buy A '88

Looking at a '88 with 258 and auto. Not to familiar with the '88s so what are common problems that I should be looking for?

It does have a carb bogg on the highway and some wandering.

Ideas?

The bad trans are the 5spds(ba10) not the auto's.. that being said, check for frame rot, floor rot.. bad vacume lines etc. Frankly i would look for a 91 or newer with fuel injection.

The '88 is in pretty decent shape from the little that I have seen. Plus the cost is right or some where around $3500

Its a weaker trans, most issues happen after 100k miles. it does not like much HP over the stock numbers, wears faster on the internals etc.
