Moving stereo faceplate to center console.

I'm moving my stereo faceplate to my center console so I am able to lock it up safely. Only problem is, what to do with the empty space where the old faceplate used to be. Any ideas?

You could use the space as a "cubbyhole"
There are plates that used to come on old trucks when a radio wasn't ordered from the factory. They are "radio delete" plates. They can be found in resto catalogs, or google.

I never even thought of putting my switches there. I'm fixing to get all new lights and winch so that works perfectly

The switches mounted there looks good. The other thing you could do is put a really cheap looking stereo there as a decoy so no one would think to look in the center console for the real one.

I like the decoy idea. I have my factory radio in my 88. No surprise that it's still safe. You might pick up one really cheap on ebay.

As much as i have wanted to do a new stereo i find it works best for me to use my earbuds for my phone. It keeps the wind noise and tire hum down. Also if i get a call i can hear it and talk, important in NJ since its now a $200 fine if the wife calls and a cop sees me! I also never lock my doors and try to keep temptation down to a minimum. The center console that locks up seems like a really great idea

I love my locking center console but it won't keep anyone really determined out. My was busted open and although there was nothing of value they still took all my paperwork and my original manual.

It's sad we have to worry about that kind of stuff happening... Glad nothing of value was stolen though!

X2 thiefs walk by my Jeep since the stock stereo and cb is worthless to them.

I keep an empty gun holster on my passenger seat to defer thiefs
