Thanks guys I appreciate it. GL with yours dave!

Anyway a small up date with picks to follow. The process of putting on the new tie rod and drag link has become slightly complicated but moving along.

The RR yj HD steering kit seems like a really nice setup with some great looking parts for the $. Well just if your curious and you want to flip the thing on top of the knuckles with the GOFORIT flip kit, you can't just get the stock yj kit alone. It looks like right now I need to use the passenger side TRE from the TJ kit to make it work.

I have the knuckles drilled and welded on the GOFORIT flip bushings, and that turned out great. I also had to "flip" the morris taper on the PS TRE becuse when you flip it it wants the draglink on the back and that won't work. So i flipped the YJ one and the YJ TRE has a "bend" in it for clearence. It bends the wrong way of you flip it. My draglink and tie rod barely hit eachother and I don't like it. So thanks to BASELINE 4x4 (and no help at all from rugged ridge at all, more on that later too) i have a TJ PS TRE and i'm gonna try it out. More pics and possibly a full write up/explanation to come.

Also and this is jsut for refence. The draglink needs shortened too. I had to take about 1 3/4 off of it total. The same amount off both ends. More about that later too. Sorry for such a long reply. Just needed to get it out of my head.

Also got two new front calipers and pads and stuff.

Thanks! No that is the posi lock for the front cad. It is just a manual lock for the front axel to bypass the old vacum system. Hopefully someday thats going away in favor of front solid chromoly inner and out shafts.

Dude, it's beautiful.

::tear::

I just got my first Wrangler, a 94 YJ with low (considering the year) mileage, There isn't ever enough money or time to do it all. I'm going to break her down this weekend to see what's what regarding fuel system, ignition, and brakes. Wish me luck.

What was the year of the cavalier you got the seats from?

I've been looking at dismantling yards for some new seats too

Thanks man! I would love to have a hard top. I keep looking. As far as the tools go it's been a lot of years saving and waiting.

I'm gonna just post a couple pics of my new used seats. I also picked up a used bestop center console that is in but nor in the pics. I am gonna make a sepertae thread for my steering stuff and just post a link. It's too much to clutter this thread up.

What i like is that the passenger seat has the fold forward thing like the drivers but still also has the tumple mount on the seat riser. I still need to get the seat covers ordered but am debation on weather or not to try to start getting rid of the spice or to order seat covers that match.

Sweet!

I got my lights on. Damn they are bright. I need to aim them initially but will more than likley adjust them when on the trail. I can reach out and move them,
Specs are GE4509(napa equivalent) 100w @13v.
Trucklight Rubber housings(napa part # to be added)
Mounts, Wireing, and 30 A relay by me.

Lights on with headlight low beams.

Just for ref:
Low beams headlights

Highbeams:

highbeams with new lights:

I need to get some night shots. They are stupid bright for less than $50.

I also posted this in the aircraft landing light thread just for some who may not venture here are there.

Nice Lights, I like the routing, is that a heavy cable or tubing.

*side note: can't believe that after a month I'm still collecting parts prior to my build. Frame's been ready for 2 weeks, replacement leafs and shocks arrived Thurs. so waiting on sandblast and epoxy .. no wine before it's time.

I used rubber tubing I had. I think it's vacum line IIRC.

I don't have pics but went out last night to see what these lights coud so. WOW! They are really awesome. Also I can reach out and aim them as need be when on the trail. Nice added bonus.

I always hate it when my jeep is down. I love driving it.

How much lift do you have total? I didn't see in the thread what springs you put in. I saw 1" rear shackle, didnt see what fronts. And i saw 1" BL. And you're still on the 32's correct?

It's a 2.5" rough country SUA lift, 1" body lift, 1" shackle lift, raised fender flares and clearenced metal 1" or so.

So i guess a total lift of about 5-6" but only half is suspension. Yup 32's. I could run 33's if i had bump stops.

Hoping for 35-36's with an 8.8 install and regear someday and some tube front and rear fenders. I might need a small bumpstop for that too.

Thanks guys. Thats definatley the idea. Keep it simple, wheel it and DD it. I like the small projects i get to do too.

Next thing is a new master cylinder. I have devloped a brake problem that is only getting worse. I have all new lines and new calipers and wheel cylinders. My booster checks out ok but over the course of a few days I loose pedal pressure. It's not leaking anywhere and still stops ok but I like a good pedal feel.

Also an electric fan soon too. Then hopefully the 4.0 TB, and some exhaust work. Just little stuff but i'll keep you guys posted for sure.

I got to truely test out my tow points. Yanked a pretty big cherokee out of a real mess. He had no power so it was all me.... I'll post the vids when I can.

I have to say she it becoming a really reliable fun little rig. It's always nice after a wheeling trip not to have to fix stuff...

Got the new master in today. Wow. I have a solid brake pedal now. It's amazing.

I think next week i'm going to the take a part for electric fan stuffs and maybe a 4.0tb.

The TB is gonna wait a bit because with that will be all new 2.25 in high flow exhaust, new intake and exhaust gaskets, also some porting of the intake and exhaust to make it flow better. Also custom air filter setup. Got some stuff up my sleeve.

Awesome thread. I want to build rockers with steps but want to go with round tube instead of square. I really like yours though. You could sell those!!

Thanks! They work great. I was gonna go with round but they match my rectangular front and rear bumpers.

She is ready for another wheeling trip! I had to replace the passenger side rear shock mount. The old one had a hole rusted thru it and i did not want it to come off and wreck a shock.

I used the autorust ones available thru quadratec. I was gonna make my own but for the money i did not have time to make one.
