Mystery Fluid Leak

I recently replaced my rear seal on my transfer case of my 88 YJ. Now for what ever reason, I have fluid (Red - so I assume its from the transfer case) leaking from my U-joint just behind the Transfer case after the jeep sits after about a day. Not much, but usually about a spoonfull is on the ground after about a day of sitting. I just can't see how fluid can be leaking from the U-Joint. Am I missing something?

post pics if you'd like, that will help. it isn't too hard to damage that seal on install and it could seep out and leak off the shaft.

It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president."

Not good quality, but you can see that the shaft is dry, however the knuckle has the fluid on the bottom side>>>>

Look between your slip yoke and u-joint..... there's a cup thats just pressed into the yoke to seal it from the inner splines... There's your leak.. mine is leaking the same way right now...

There is only one place it come from. Make sure all contact surfaces are very clean, especialy the shaft. Maybe the seal itself was not good to start with, that happens.
The transfer is not over full is it? or your vent is not plugged?
Good luck.

Many thanks for the feedback. As an example of my lack of knowledge, where abouts is the vent hole?

That's exactly the same seal that I replaced on my 89 and it started to leak a few days later. I then replaced it again with a seal from a different parts store that was black and wasn't cone shaped. No more leaks. I have a 5 spd. I think what happened in my case it that they gave me a seal for a 4 spd. Whether that's the case or not the cone shaped red seal leaked. The black seal that doesn't have that coned shape does not leak.
