Need Direction??

so the more im thinking about this idea, the more i want to do it.

i have and 89 4.2L 5spd. stock, expect the manifold back exhaust, 4"RC lift, 1.5" shackle and 33s.

Now, a girl in my class as a 95 Sahara that she totaled (frame is bent). her brother hit something on the passenger side, hard enough to bend the frame. this was their 2nd car he totaled and didnt want to go through the insurance company. So its parked in their drive way. it is a 5spd 4.0L stock. they have hard doors, soft doors, hard top and a soft top to go along with the sale. the drivetrain is fine and starts right up.

they have had it for awhile and only want $500.00 for everything and to tow it away, title in hand.

now where can i find info on swapping this into my yj? any one here done it, and is it worth it? i pretty sure i could sell off the hard and soft doors and tops b/c i dont need them, and it will pay for the vehicle and anything i need for the swap to get done. just need a little push in the direction of a "HOW TO" and what exactly i need from it?

any input?

I would say that is a pretty straight forward swap out. You will have to swap the CPU to run the fuel injection, but that shouldn't be a big problem. If it were me, I'd do it unless the 95 Sahara has a ton of miles on the drivetrain.

Check other forums I saw one a while back, but I can't remember where try http://forums.4wd.com/4wdforums/ and www.jeepforum.com. It shouldn't be too bad if you have the whole vehicle to work off of. It probably has less miles than your jeep so you might change the tranny out as well.

You will need to swap everything. Engine, Tranny and Transfer case. The 89 had the Peugot tranny and the transfer case will be a different spline count. For the money I say jump on it. You can swap the harness and computer to your jeep and only need to hook up power wires for the most part. I put a 98 4.0 in my 89 YJ and did it complete in a week after work. It is not that hard.

get it

If it was me I would get it before someone else does and then worry about what all has to be swapped.
