new guages

well guys and gals I got the chance to pick up some cheap auto meter guages and I couldn't say no. So heres the deal I have a oil pressure, oil temp, and a water temp guage. So what I want to know is have any of you installed any of these in your jeep? where did you mount the sensors? how did you run the wiring? I've never installed an aftermarket guage and I would reall like to have an idea on how you did it.

Mounting the sensors will depend on the stock mounting locations. I'm not sure about the 4cyl, but I know on the 6cyl the water temp sender is on the passenger side of the block in front of the coolant drain hole.
Usually the best place to mount oil temp and oil pressure senders is by using an oil filter sandwich adapter. The sandwich adapter is a plate that goes between the engine block and the oil filter. The plate has 2 to 4 ports on it so you can plug in different sensors.
Are your gauges electrical or mechanical?

I recently did a turbo Mazda RX8 project, and I got one for it from eBay from this same seller. Quality was good.
eBay Motors: OIL FILTER SANDWICH ADAPTER JEEP CJ-7 CJ7 80-86 4CYL (item 270272792163 end time Sep-11-08 20:23:45 PDT)
I would ask these guys if they make one for your motor.
