Nope. Heat comes from the tunnel. The exgaust is routed directly under there and the hot engine air is pushed there either from the cooling fan or forward motion

Ah, okay. Well, I'm sure a thick enough liner would prevent the heat as well as the carpet anyway. For me extra heat is a positive anyway. I was just thinking of our sweat deprived friend here. :P

The carpet has pads of heat resistance stuff on the bottom half. But as long as you have shoes on I wouldn't worry too much. You could always put the heat stuff under the tub at the same spot with some adhesive spray or use the bolts for the linkage tub bracket that are there to help.
