Momo, first off welcome to the club! To help you, we would first need to know more details about your rig, secondly, we will need to know exactly how you plan to use it. Are you looking to make it look bad ass but not wheel? Will it be your daily driver? Strictly a trail rig? What size motor, tires, lift, etc, what tranny & transfer case is on there now? What size axles are you running? On a day off I would do a complete and I mean complete inspection on it so you know exactly what you're up against and start making a list. Your age and mechanical experience will help us help you better. I have been tinkering on my YJ since Feb and have learned a ton, some from fellow jeepers on here but mostly by just digging in and getting filthy. First thing I would say is to get her driving really good, if it drives like crap, guess what, you're not gonna wanna drive it. You said the drivetrain was solid, how about all the other moving parts? Examples of things to check would be: ball joints, tie rod and tie rod ends, heim joints, wheel bearings, hub assembly, leaf springs, body mounts, axles, drive shafts and u-joints, power steering box, radiator, just to name a few... Hope this helps and ask tons of questions, wave at other jeeps, meet other jeepers and enjoy the journey. Remember, you gotta pay to play!
