1997 YJ Wrangler. I have questions on the following:

1. When I hit a bump something in the front end makes a clank. I have hand checked all components but nothing out of ordinary. What should I be checking that often goes bad?

2. I need to find a lower drivers door ( red ), suggestions on where to look.

3. I have stock wheels but the silver paint is coming off, suggestions on making them look new: painting, powdercoating, just ordering new?

4. The ac works but does not blow cold air. Someone said it is a valve that is the problem but not sure what valve it could be, suggestions.

Thanking you for any response to my questions. I hope to learn as much as I can. Thanks.

You have a TJ not a YJ. TJ's front head lights are rounds and YJ's front head lights are square. YJ's last year was 1995.

The clank sounds like a U Joint or your suspension bottoming out.

Good luck on finding the doors. They are highy sought after, but check local junkyards, craigslist.com, ebay, etc.

You can take the wheels off and sand them best you can and then do just about anything to them, like rattle can paint, powder coat, etc. New wheels can be found from anywhere from $50-$200. If you plan on getting bigger tires then the stock ones won't do you much good anyway.

Have somebody knowledgeable look at your a/c. It might have a leak or just need some refrigerant added.

i got rims and tires from a site on ebay. they sell take offs from dealerships. ordered them on line and ups delivers to the door. the tires are goodyear wranglers and the rims are stock. i ordered 5 each time, i ordered twice) and was quite satisfied each time. go on to ebay and look up tires.
