newbee question yj seat swap

I have a 87 yj and I need new seats. Does anyone know other vehicle seats that would work? I am a big o boy and the stock seats do not last.

Thanks

Ford Ranger, either bucket or bench. Almost bolt for bolt.

I have a sweet pair out of a 2004 that's 60/40 with a small console I getting ready to install. Looked like an easy swap.

I heard that late 80's and early 90's ford mustang seats will bolt in with no problem as well!!

Ranger Bench

Anyone have pics of a ranger(or any) front bench seat in a YJ or TJ? I Would like to get a look at it if you do.
Thanks
Jeremy

I called the local junk dealer and he gave me a hassel about the ranger seats. They wont fit bla bla bla. Come in some day and he'll mesure 2c if they'll fit. Im sure Id have 2 make an adapter that bolts on2 the seat and the slider. Just 2 alum bars with holes drilled in the right places. but he pi s s e d me off so I may buy the best top cheapos for $119 ea at ACME jeeps. Just dont tell my wife. I really want the heated 1's to assist the heater (wisconsin winters can be a bit chilly!) but for $350 ea I may have to sleep on them too

I had the same thing happen when I changed my seats in my '90 YJ, the guy at the junk yard laughed at me and said that the seats I wanted out of a '98 TJ wouldn't work (Don't tell this woman it can't be done, cause I'm liable to prove you wrong 95% of the time). I got them home, took 3/8" steel and fabricated my own mounting "brackets" for it. got them in last night. Most comfortable seats, and definalty more padding, plus they recline. They raised me up in the seat another 2 inches. Now I just need to modify the risers or find a set that is 2 inches lower than mine.

Here's the photos of the TJ seats I installed, along with my "mounting bracket"

I use 2003 cavalier seats - they were a direct bolt in.
Here's a link to several seat swaps
