Newbie HELP!! Lift question

Yes its me again. My issues continue to grow deeper and mre expensive. Now I want to do a 2inch body lift on my 91 YJ. I was told this that and the other. Now for some real answers. I was told that all I needed to do was pul the spacers on one side, jack it up, place the new spacers, do the other side and I am done. then someone asked if I had the spacers for the shifters, the transmission, the fan, drive shaft....and on and on. I went with 2 inches because I was told I just had to swap out spacers. yes or no. if yes PERFECT, if no what else do I need now.

TIA
Doc

2" Lift

I have a '92 YJ and have the 2" body lift installed. It was very simple and inexpensive. Loosen all the bolts, should be three (3) on each side, one (1) in the front below the grill, and don't forget the rear ones. Do not take out all the bolts at once, just loosen, and remove only the bolts from one side. Jack that side up and pop in the spacers. Put in the bolts but do not tighten. Repeat for the other side, and the front spacer. Enjoy.

The body lift kit should come with the items you need to make sure its done right. Which one did you get? Time wise 2hrs give or take.

So how did you deal with the shifter handles? I bought a 1" and it was going to require welding in a piece to the t-case shifter handle.

I just put a 2 inch body lift on my 95 yj last night. It was pretty simple I just loosened all the bolts, unbolted the radiator bracket and the exhaust hanger under the center of the jeep. Took all the bolts out of one side at a time and put the spacers in. Then I put the extended brackets on the radiator and exhaust. I did not do nothing to extend the shifter, it works fine without it. Its looks sweet. I put nerf bars on to hide the frame. Hope this helps.

i put 3" on mine. had to bend shifter different so i would have all my gears. other than that it was a very easy simple project. shifter also very easy just removed, put in vise, used the blue wrench, moved shifter bend how i wanted, let cool end of project.

yeah, all the "other" stuff you do for a two inch body lift is basically optional. i put in a 2" BL and I used new bushings w/ lift pucks. they gave me the weld on t-case and shifter extensions<----just pieces of steel rod.(stupid) and radiator lower straps, blah, blah. didnt put any of those on. my shifter is shorter and my t-case lever barley sticks out the floor. and in the engine bay you van see the lower tips of the fan blade where they are now lower than shroud....yippie. but im about to put in a 350 and elec. fan anyway so who cares.
