Noob question

Ok, so i've been entertaining a trade with a guy for my old CRX for an 89 wrangler. The guy said the only problem with the wrangler is there is a slow oil leak and the reason is the main seal is bad. How hard is it to fix and how much is it? Im very new to jeeps and dont want to dive in to a sh1t bucket for my first Jeep. and also, everyone is telling me to hold out for a 6 cylinder instead of a 4. is the 6 really that much better than the 4? thanks guys

If you are gonna drive it everyday, hold out for the 6. Especially if you plan on lifting it and adding large tires.

I don't know...if you can get the Jeep for the cost of an old honda you have lying around, then go for it. This of course depends on what you think the Honda is worth. There are tons of people out there that are happy with their 4 bangers. I am not one of them, but there are others. As far as repairing the rear main seal, this depends on your abilities. If you do it yourself it really is not that expensive, it will just take some time. If you are having someone do it it will cost quite a bit more, remember those guys charge $50-60 or more per hour. You are going to have to pull the motor to replace the seal.
