Question OBA - Viair - help me please

Ok, so I finally sprung for a viair 450c 100% duty cycle compressor and a 2.5 gal air tank. I've been trying to figure out where to mount this stuff. I want the tank under the drivers side opposite the muffler. It will fit, but I'm gonna have to figure out some kind of bracket to attach it. The compressor I want in the engine compartment. I was gonna put it where the jack was, but that spot is not flat enough for the compressor. I'm also considering a dual battery tray with one battery and the compressor on it. Has anyone out there installed anything like this. I need some ideas for brackets and locations.

btw, it's a '94 4.0 with a/c

I would mount the air compressor upside down underneath the battery tray instead of buying a new tray. Mine has a big gaping hole with nothing under there, but I dont have AC so not sure on yours. Then I would remove the jack and put the air tank there for easier plumbing if it will fit.

Just my 2cents

I've seen compressors mounted where the jack goes. Why don't you want to put it there???You can just stack washers under it to account for the curves of the inner fender.

My tank and compressor are mounted on my rear driver wheel well inside the jeep, sure its loud when it turns on, but how often do you plan on being inside the jeep while your filling your tires up , and it looks cool when you have your top off

ya you want the compressor close to the air tank for ease of install. unless you run air line from the compressor to the tank instead of the steel braided.

you wont go wrong with a viair though. i had two 380c's on 10 gallons of air when i had a s10 on air ride. best compressors ever! woulda love 480s though. just dont get a air zenith. mine died in no time.

if you have any more questions just pm me if ya want.

i have that same tank and compressor. I have the tank mounted drivers side under neath the place where the backseaters put their feet, opposite of the muffler. and the compressor next to it on the drop from the seat part of the tub to the feet part of the tub. I dont know how to explain it good. so the compressor is mounted side ways on the wall on the tub right where the backseaters heals hit. I just ran bolts straight throught the tub to the tank and same for the compressor. That compressor aint that loud due to the rubber bushings on the compressor mount.
