Opinions on these speakers!

I have 52 bucks in my piggie bank and plan on using it to buy some speakers to replace the stock speakers in my 94. These are the ones I found. I don't really know anything about speakers other than how to hook them up. So I have a few questions:

1) They'll fit, right?
2) How do you think they will work?
3) Do you have any other suggestions for less than 50 bucks that would work betteR?

if it were my money, i would save it. but thats just me. when i replace speakers and other audio components in my cars, i upgrade with the best stuff i can(within reason) ive always saved up to afford the system i wanted, and i would suggest you do the same. nothing sucks more then to spend money on something that you end up not liking.
i would suggest going to some where like best buy, or even better a home and car audio place and talk to the car guys there, listen to what you can. that way you know when you bite the bullet, it will be a system you are happy with.

also, id recommend marine grade audio stuff due to the topless nature of wranglers

just my opinion. but i also enjoy listening to my music quite a lot, so the house and cars have been upgraded according to that...

I don't need the best. Medium grade works for me, but thanks for the opinion

id still say go to like a best buy and listen to some speakers.
they have a speaker like wall where you can listen to lots of different speakers and such.
you would be surprised how different the same speaker can sound to different people.

that said, i have a few friends who have run pioneer speakers, and they have had no major complaints for what they expected.

EDIT: im willing to bet that best buy may even cary those speakers in stock. and they may even be set up so you can listen to them. that way you can listen to the speakers you are thinking of buying before you pull the trigger on them

A big misconception when it comes to electronics and other things in life, is the more you spend the better the quality. This clearly isn't true.

Enough of the lecture, these are pioneers waaaaaaaay above stock. You're good. They will fit however I'd recommend getting them professionally installed as it's not easy. I just upgraded my sound system. I got alpine speakers and spent around $70, cheapest in the store. And it's a huge upgrade. Anything is an upgrade over stock especially when stock is 15+ years. Good luck.

Was it $70 for the speakers and the install? And where did you get them?

instal is by no means cheap. quotes we got for my dads car was $500-$650 depending on the place. now that was for speakers, sub, amp, and head unit. but still, it is not cheap

if you have the time to do it, then i would say try and do it yourself. it may take a bit of time, but if you are patient, then i would try it. also its a great feeling to do your own work on your vehicle

$70 just for speakers. I got it at 6ave electronics. They have a website and a few stores. Figure a poor mans best buy.

Alpine is a great brand however i was in the same boat as the OP, find something cheap and above stock. That's anything. Alpine happened to be the cheapest in the store. And I wanted them installed asap.

I just put in a set of punch's in mine, $58 on ebay, very nice, full sounding speaker. The local stereo shop wanted $129 not installed!

I installed these pioneer speakers in the dash of my 95'. Pioneer USA - TS-G4643R - 4" x 6" 2-Way Speaker with 130 Watts Max. Power They sound pretty good for such a small speaker. I bought them at walmart. I forget how much they were. They bolted right up. Install was a bit tricky but I was able to do it with out removing the dash. here was my thread: http://www.wranglerforum.com/f8/pass...ker-43065.html

Ok thanks a bunch guys. And Rio, thanks for chippin it. If the g series is what bolted onto yours then me buying the A series probably would have been a mistake and I would have had to return them.

Thanks for that post 95riogrande, I was just wondering about changing the speakers in the dash as soon as the body work is done. Thanks again.

Just took my old stock speakers out and the pasenger side speaker slid out pretty easy. The driver side was a little bit more tricky but I was able to barely wiggle it out. Here's a pic of what they look like:

No wonder they sounded like sh*t

i'm not to sure if the A series would fit or not. you can plug in vehicle info on the pioneer site to show you what fits. i just know the g series fits and sounds good.
