Optima SC34DM Blue Top?

I have a 93 YJ that is used seasonally (still used every couple of weeks off season) and I'm getting sick of my cheapo batteries dying. Any thoughts on the Optima SC34DM 12 Volt Blue Top Starting & Deep Cycle Battery? will it even fit in my 93 YJ?

I have a 93 yj that I put the red top Optima battery in. It interchanges with the standard battery. If you have to charge it you need to jump it with another battery and put the charger on the 2nd battery. A regular battery charger wont charge it right with out going through another battery. They do make a charger for the Optima battery. Hope this helps . Ask your supplier about this. The Optima battery is more expensive than a regular battery.

The answer you are looking for is a battery tender. I have one for my ATV, my camper trailer and my riding mower.

The camper and riding mower sit from about Oct. to April. I would bet $100.00 that the mower would start right away with a few cranks and no jump. Nothing on the camper to start, But I'd bet double or nothing that all the lights and the water pump would work right away with no jump or charge.
I use the ATV all year. It's a 2010 with the original battery.

Google Battery Tender.

There should be an Optima battery that will fit your Jeep. Go to Summit Racing and search their website for an Optima for your Jeep. You may want to consider a Red Top.

Good Luck, L.M.

I see that you are in Los Angles I bought mine from Les Schuab tire in Northern Calif.. I don't know if Les Schuab has opened any stores south Of Bakersfield or not, but your local parts house should have a listing for them. you cant beat there warranty at Les Schuab and costomer service.

Thanks! I think I'll definitely get a battery tender, but since the current battery is dead I still have to get a new one. I'm actually leaning towards a Odyssey PC1500STM after speaking with a buddy.

While I am in Southern California, the jeep is up North! In fact it's about smack in between two Les Schwab's!

thanks!
