Paint body question

Paint looks pretty good overall on yj...front grill and fender covers (? If they're called that...see pic) have pits I would like to clean up. Bought decent paint from local automotive paint store. Although it's a rattle can, it matched factory code and has primer in it.

My questions are:

1. What do I use to sand it down to remove those pits? (See pics)

2. Is there some kind of filler instead of sanding?

3. Is it worth f'ing with?

The only reason I ask is because the rest of the jeep looks pretty good...see pics.

Thanks for the help.

Do it right. Sand it down, prime and spray. In the long run I think that's the easiest way to go with the best result.

I agree with 87. Take the time to do it right the first time. It looks like your jeep was flat towed and took on a lot of road chips. Mine looks the same way. You could get a chrome cover for the grill and it would be a lot faster than painting...

My buddy used plastic dip on those front fender pieces and it looks good. not as much prep and if you dont like it, it peels right off. It would add more black to your black and red theme

like other have said, sand and prime. they make a spot glaze that will fill minor imperfections but you only use that after sanding and priming.

3m makes a clear paint that you put on your car. And you can just peel it off when you want. I would try that also
