I looking at picking up a used (Tan) hardtop. Has anyone ever changed the color of their hardtop?? I'm looking at changing it to black. Any ideas would be very helpful!!!

use spray paint it looks the same and is so much cheaper. i spent 80 on car paint, primer, and clear coat for my hard top. scratched it all up on the trail and used regular spray paint. and it looks EXACTLY the same. I have black so i use regular black gloss rustoleum paint and it looks great

i super recommend rustoleum paint compared to anything else. it looks good and if u scratch it or anything(witch u will if u hit the trails) u just touch up that one spot and it looks good as new

I agree, Rustoleum is great. I've used it on my whole jeep. Its very durable and if you trail alot its eay to spot fix.

yup its on my chassie. I put a spray paint ruber coating down and then the rustoleum on top of it. been completely grinding the chassie down to the metal and prepping and doing it correctly. and then paint it once a month on top of that anyways

Personally, I use the hig-temp engine paint. One reason... it has ceramic in it. Nice look and as well it is much harder to chip. Its a couple more dollars per can but well worth in IMO.

My top used to be blue and now its black... I bought it black but can tell on the bottom edges were the black has rubbed off that it used to be blue. Can't tell from the photos...

wait a minute... how'd that snow get up on top of my leaf springs? hehe...
