Painting Flares and Half Doors

I have a green sahara. I recently put a black soft top on it and got some white half doors. I'm not really to concerned with having mismatched doors but I think I am going to paint them black so that they at least match the top. My question is should I just get them Line-X'd along with my flares? If so, what kind of prep work do I need to do on both the flares and the doors? Thanks for the help and advice. If you have any better ideas on what to do then let me know.

The doors just ruff them up I just did rhino line on my jeep (roll on) Herculiner was real easy as for the flares it says to clean them and also ruff them up. I did not do my flares because I'm buying new ones soon Here is a pic

Hope this helps

Put some gator adhesion promoter on them before you paint them.
