Paintjng my hard top

I'm painting my hardtop tomorrow. I previously had a hole in the too but used a fiberglass kit to patch it up. Any suggestions on the process of painting the hard top? All tools needed and how many coats etc.??? (Plan on using krylon fusion flat black) what primer should I use?

I did mine with the Raptor liner and came out fantastic and very durable, just make sure whatever you use prep it well, sand entire top and clean well,

Ice Cream Paint Job

I went with some OEM paint to match the body. Sprayed from a gun in a body shop. Top was completely sanded down and finished smooth & glossy just like the body. Total was $300. I'm happy with it.

Im assuming thats a spray bomb can you're going to use? Your paint job is in your prep work for sure. Make sure its cleaned and sanded nice. If you're going to use a spray can primer also I would use 220 grit on the whole top and get yourself a high build spray primer. SEM makes a very good one and we use it in our shop all the time for small things. Give your whole top 2 good coats and then wait for it to dry and then sand down with 320 and spray your coats of paint. Make sure they are nice light even coats with the rattle can that will give you your best look. Once you get it fully covered give it one more coat for good measure. Again your paint job will come out the best if you spend a little extra time on the prep work.

I would do mine in a booth as well but I don't think the op has a booth or spray equipment to do the job like that
