Quadratec- epic fail!!

I am in the process of re-doing my 88 and ordered a few thing from Quadratec. I ordered front windshield light mounts- center console and lift shackles. I got the shackles fairly quickly. The other items never showed so I decided to call them after waiting 5 weeks.

Once I got them on the phone I was told the center console was back ordered for a few more weeks. This was never mentioned when I purchased it. They then claimed the light mounts came on Jan.12th. They never did. I was charged for all items and yet do not have 2 of them. I called back and was told I would hear back from someone- it is now 2 weeks later- no calls.

These guys are a joke- not sure how others have been treated by them but I for one will not ever deal with them again. I have since ordered from JC Whitney and everything from my top, to the congo cage, to the pushbar has been delivered in a matter of days and in perfect condition. Moving forward they will get my business.

That suxs to hear. Ibhave never personally had any experiences through Quadratec just for the reason that their prices can be a little on the high side and their shipping & handling/ packaging fees are outrageous. I have gone through 4wd.com and had nothing but great expreiences. Plus the customer service was awesome! I ordered a set of black d-rings awhile back. One of the 2 rings I received was dammaged (the pin would not screw in). I called them up and they sent a new one right out. I received the new one and they had sent me a polished one by mistake. I called them up and they apolgised and sent me 2 more black ones. On top of that they did not want anything returned.

Their prices are decent (esp when they are having sales) and I have ordered everything from suspension, front bumper, fender flares, to skid plates and I couldn't be happier.

That's the other thing- the Quadratec customer service was horrible!! I first got a lady that was barely able to speak english, then a guy who basically told me I had the light mounts. duuhhhh- I dont.. All this after sitting on line for a good 8-10 minutes.

I prefer Acme Jeep over Quadratec. Ordered many parts with no problems whatsoever. They're from PA.

Yeah, I too will never give Quadratec any business again. As noted above, they usually don't publish the best prices, although they claim to have a low price guarantee. Who needs to go through that crap? Plus, they will gouge you severely on the S&H. When I questioned this on an order, with the published UPS rates in hand, the CSR had the audacity to try to claim their rates were the actual shipping costs. I swore then they'd never get another dime from me.

I've since used JC Whitney, 4WD.com and several others. The great thing is that the prices for the same items are usually the same or cheaper than Quadratec. You can usually get free shipping, and as long as they are in a different state, no sales tax. (I know, you are responsible for this to your home state, if they have a sales tax.)

As far as customer service, I've never had a bad experience from any of these other vendors yet. So, until I do, I will continue to give my business to whatever vendor offers the best deal for the product I want, except for Quadratec.

Decided to call them again today.. They acted like they have never heard from me before.. this after sitting on hold for almost 9 minutes. These guys are a joke!! I only hope that this reaches as many people as possible- and hopefully will save someone else a headache by dealing with these guys..

Then I will toss out this challenge to anyone.. Call their number- 1-800-745-5337 and when you finally get someone to answer, ask them to speak to customer service- you need a tracer put on a delivery. Then sit back and watch the minutes.. After about 10-15 you will finally give up...

I gave up on Quadratec long ago . . . personally I think they pass out crack to their employees as a perk for working there . . . trust me, it's the nicest excuse I could think of after experiences that I and other friends have had . . . Everything from sending two passenger side soft doors to my buddy and then having the gall to ask him if he's sure when he calls them to have them send him a driver's side, or sending me winch hooks when I ordered D-rings . . . these guys just don't seem to have a clue or just don't give a damn. I try to avoid all the "WalMart's of Jeep Parts" . . . Quadratec, JC Whitney, 4WP, they all suck ass in my opinion . . . I do my best to deal with the little guys that actually care about my business . . . Northridge 4x4, Mesa 4x4, Savvy to name a few.

But their catalog is like the Sear's Christmas Catalog used to be. Lots to look at and dream of.

X2 - I try to buy local, but if I can find it online at a killer price, I avoid Quadratec all together.

I dealt with Quadratec only once or twice back in 01 and 02. I wasn't all that impressed. I generally go through 4WD Hardware. They're customer service is one of the best I have ever dealt with. Top notch.

Quadratec is an outstanding company. They do millions and millions of dollars of sales to thousands and thousands of customers. There's no doubt they mess up a few, and a few times I know our customer service has gotten involved in issues and problem resolution when it happens with one of our products.

But I can assure you that they have great service. Always keep in mind that no one ever goes on the internet to say "yeah, it was ok" or "sure, my order was done right."

You either need to make someone really mad or really happy in order to get posts like these. And it's really hard to make people really happy.

I've ordered from Quad before, and will again. And I work for a company that sells to Quad, and is very happy with the way they do business.

I'm too far away from any decent local dealers around here, minus maybe tire sales.

I'm a fan of 4WheelParts. I love the Quadratec mag but usually shop around and get 4WP to price match. I've ordered from them for years and only recently have had issues with phone sales and service...they're slowing going downhill. Anyone else experience the same thing with them?

I have a friend that is somewhat new to the Jeep market and he started with Quadratec. He had a few issues but after emptying his wallet and a few months of waiting, he called back and they worked it all out. They sent him something extra to keep him a happy customer. Minus that and the prices...they haven't given me trouble.

i agree, the last time i saw their name come up here it was all good expereince. i've been dealing with them for years, and have always had great service. i gave up on the other ones 4wd hardware and so on, the sites were harder to use or the people i had to talk to were not knowledgeable or helpful.

i had some springs go on back order a few months ago, i was not charged untill the springs shipped, the few weeks they were on backorder i was not charged.

the people, service, and product has alwasy been top notch in my 10 plus years dealing with them. whatever i need in that category i'll shop around for 3 minutes online, then call them and maybe save $5. and they were the best price on the ome leaf springs i ordered a few months ago.

another aspect of their service that is outstanding is the couple times i've had a problem, they were all over it, fixed it promptly, and apologized. many years ago they sent me a full set of body mount bushings when i ordered spring bushings, they told me keep the body mounts and we'll send the spring bushings right away. body mount set is obviously way more expensive than spring bushings.

I've personally always had good service, no mistakes, and extremely fast delivery from quadratec. But then again, they are based like 50 miles away from here. I can order something at 5 on a monday and have the part by 3 on tuesday... It's nice. I did have a mess up through JCWhitney once though. But, to each their own.

I too have had nothing but excellent service from quadratec.. I spent over 6 grand with them in a 3 month period and every order except for one was spot on... On the the order that was bad, an item had been miss pulled.. I called customer service and they immediately sent me the correct piece and told me to just keep the wrong one i received... That to me is top notch.. Hell they have even paid for return shipping on items that i mistakenly ordered.... Sorry to hear that your experience was bad...

I wish I could say the same about these guys. I called again yesterday at 4:15pm and finally got customer service to answer after 19 minutes on hold.. 19 minutes!!! I was told once again it had delivered- and to check with my neighbors.. I live in a gated community- the delivery guys have to sign in and list what houses they have a delivery for. On the day they said it was delivered-- no one had a delivery for me?

I also own a chain of Halloween stores- most of you have more than likely shopped us for your halloween gear. My one golden rule in my stores is EVERY single customer pays my bills. If they buy a $1 item or a $400 item.. they are treated with quick and timely service. If they complain, as the owner I make it my job to resolve it. I sometimes wish more companies thought like this- starting with these guys.

thanks- so far I have not seen one negative thing about 4wd. I am looking for some of those bars that replace the stock half doors. I will try them first.

I have used quadratech in the past, but you are right, the customer service has dissapeared there.....I think they must be under new management or something.....I have since started using 4wd and love it, and if I am in the mood, can drive 2 hours to the store and pick up the item.

i have always used and likes quadratec, but recently i have started using 4WD Parts b/c i have a commercial account through them and get a great discount. if you use 4WD Parts call customer service and ask for Woody. he is awesome, he is very honest and always guides me toward the right product, rather than the most expensive. he is also extremely knowledgeable about off roading and all of the products they have.

I bought some stuff from them and was surprised at how quickly it arrived,, within a week.
And also that besttop place,, I ordered some window channels and forgot to tell them I also need the 1/4 turns to secure it to the framework so I called them and they (at no charge) sent them out to me on their dime,,,I offered to pay for them, they just said it was no problem.
So for me, I`ll buy from both those business` whenever they have what I need.
