Question about motor oil

I have a 2008 Jeep Wrangler limited.... I have noticed that since I began using synthetic blend oil 5/20 my jeep is using a lot... I cannot smell the oil burning, there are no leaks, as I have had it checked, nothing on the ground leaking.... Valves are all ok... so what is making my jeep use more oil... 85000 miles.... is the synthetic blend thinner ? should I go back to regular conventional ? this started when I began using synthetic and synthetic blends.. could that be a factor ?????

If you're burning around a quart or so between oil changes, that's perfectly normal and not worrisome. More than that and something is wrong. The synthetic is more viscous, so I guess it's possible that it's seeping through your valves/seals a little more than conventional would, but regardless of oil type it's not normal for an engine to lose a significant amount of oil... Unless you have like a 2007 Audi A4 in which case you might as well just throw the oil out rather than put it in!

Your wrangler does not exactly have a "high performance" engine, so there's really no need to use full synthetic. Conventional or synthetic blend changed every 5000 miles or so will do you just fine.
