Red Neck Speaker Screens

Just thought I'd share...

I recently installed some new speakers in the 'ol Wrangler. The dash has been mangled and the speaker grills were tweaked. I had to drill holes in the dash to mount the 4x6 speakers...a real mess!

I prefer the OE look but I'm not ready to spring for a dash project so I came up with this idea... Camo speaker grills made from Remmington camo fabric.

The mesh camo came from Walmart...used for hunting. I made a template out of cardboard and made my cuts. I decided three layers would do the trick. I slid the mesh under the dash pad and used loc-tite clear outdoor adhesive.

It looks much better in person... I took this picture in a dark garage with a flashlight and my phone. I think it looks alright for a hack job cover up!

I may see if I can find standard black speaker cover and try again...thought this might be a good solution to clean up a YJ dash.
