hi all,
currently, i have 33" mickey thompson baja claws on my yj. ive been looking into getting some 33" regular old street tires for it when its being used as the daily ride. i kind of want to save my mickey treads for the mud and the snow.

with that being said, any opinions on the best street tires to get? pluses would definitely be long tread life, still maneuverable in rain, quiet road travel. im still looking to keep 33's on it though.

also, if i were to downsize the tires would that affect the way the jeep handles?
also also, just for future reference: what would you consider to be the best off-road tires?

your valued opinions wanted!!!

thanks in advance:D

Take a look at the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor. I test tires for a living, not street tires but part of my organization does. I have seen the comparison between most of the tire brands and there really is a big difference. The Wranglers are reasonably priced, very quiet, great road manners and are rated for 50,000 miles. They are considered an all terrain so they aren’t overly aggressive and you can get them in a 33”.

Bfg

I gotta agree with the others. I would get some BFG AT's. I got almost 40,000 on my BFG muds and they are still running strong. So AT's would last for some time. As far as size goes my bud has a Tj with a 4in skyjacker and 31's cause hes to cheap to buy new tires and the thing rides like garbage. you have to work to keep it in the lane at 55mph. we think most of that is because the smaller tires. good luck
