i have a 1989 jeep wrangler yj.
i need help finding where to buy the roll bar padding that also comes with the front roll bars (windshield holders) [right above driver and passenger].
i have been looking for months and i only have seen the "sport roll bar" which doesnt cover those extra ones.

can anyone help me find it online?
i also want black if thats no problem

If you just need padding go to summit racing, jegs. if you need the covers also I would have to do more searching.

You could get the spice or gray pair and spray paint them with vinyl/fabric paint.

The stock padding you can buy sux - go to mcmaster carr - msc -fastenal - any of those industrial supply companies will have foam padding and tape -2" works great.
My padding is from mcmaster carr, about 3/4" thick if memory serves, way more than stock - which padding do you want when your in the big rocks and your head is getting thrown around like a rag doll?

Quality point if the user is going to be going offroad. Maybe the user just wants the padding for the looks.

Just curious.. I recently got some padding from someone parting their YJ and it looks like the torx bolt has some kind of lock on it in the center that makes removing the bolt impossible.. Does anyone know what this is and how to remove the bolts so I can install my covers?? Thanks

yeah i noticed the same thing when i took mine off, if you haven't already got a solution you can just go to autozone or another parts store and they should have bits in stock. i got my set from autozone.

its a safety torx. i believe a t40 if memory serves. if you only plan on removing them once you can use a set of vice grips on them if they will break free easily otherwise i know they sell the bit at lowes. between 5-10 bucks each. good luck!!

It's called tamper proof torx. Get a set that us hollowed out. Harbor freight.

Ran into this exact same issue when we replaced ours! But, I know a way to remove it for free. Take the other torx bolts out from the back of the of the roll bar instead! They screws into the end of the tube horizontal tubes. I think the ones on top bolts just allow adjustment forward and back if necessary. I'm not really sure what the point of the tamper proof bolt (on the drivers side only) is.
