Roll bar question

Can I put a newer style rollbar (1995 ish) in my 89 YJ? I would like some better protection for the kids in the back seat and have 3 point seat belts. I didn't really want to do a lot of welding. Has anybody done this?

Should be able to. I would think you might need to make some backing plates for the new rear bars at the fender wheels. Of course tie into the frame would be best. also the cross tie bar from rockhard is a bolt on that also might be nice.

no problem. have fun with the mod. the one thing i remember from the previous thread is that you will need a way to squeeze the roll bar to get it in place. something with a ratchet set up. also the holes will need to be "wallowed out" some.(front holes) as you can see, the rear holes will be on the wheel wells. the roll bar has two attachment points for the seat belt. the third one is drilled in the wheel well. large fender washers under the nuts, should provide enough sturdiness for the third attachment point.
