When I got my RC kit a year and a half ago, the 2 and 4 inch were the same cost. So I went with the taller 4" and am glad I did. On a side note, I've heard lots of good things about their 4.5" kit with military wrap.
It's incredible for the price and my last YJ had rustys springs , then 4.5" re extreme duty and then Alcan springs it does not compare with the alcans but blows Rustys out of the water and onroad rides better then the re offroad it's a wash with the re asfar as flex and ride. At a local jeep show this year hey tested articulation with a fork lift my YJ with the rc x series would raise a wheel 28-3/4" off the ground before any other tires lifted. There was another YJ there that had a standard rc kit and it only raised a tire 20" before any others lifted and my kit was only on for a couple months so it wasn't as flexy as it is now cause he springs were not broke in yet. The pics with the steel wheels (all black) were taken when the lift was on for 24hours

I've read a lot of reviews from jeepers that say the components in there kit wear out fairly quick, a couple said they've had to replace everything over a couple years. I don't wanna buy a product like suspension lift and have to keep replacing stuff or springs sagging after just a couple years. I understand you get what you pay for but $450-$500 isn't cheap to me, comparing to buying OEM Springs that'll last but are stock ride hight. The days of Buying a good product that will last at a good price are long gone I guess. Looking like if I want a good performing long lasting lift I'm gonna have to add about $300 to the budget just don't know which one will fulfill those wants.

I have an 87 also and am contemplating lifts too. My buddies telling me bds ( much more expensive) for the better overall ride on and off.

I kinda like the price on the RC too and same price for the 4.5! My jeep is stock diffs and 2.5L tho. Not sure how much more I have to do to other stuff if I go the 4.5 versus the 2.5. Hmmm

I put a RC 2.5" lift on my 90 and it did just fine. It rode better than the skyjacker I put on my 87.

Don't be fooled into getting the 4" for the same money. You WILL have to spend twice that amount modding all the other components of the jeep that will start to act up immediately.

Yeah. I've been reading and hearing that. I appreciate you sharing that info! Probably just tone down the wild dreams and do the 2.5 and some nice mud 31s. Mostly use it for bebopping around town, camping and some not too deep muddy trails.

Maybe RC prices that 4 inch lift so cheap cuz they know you'll have to add all the other stuff later. Lol

The reason behind the cost of the 2.5 and 4 inch kits being the same is this. We sell So many of the 4 inch kits, that we are able to produce the components are larger quantities, at less cost. We could charge more for the 4 inch kit, but if we are able to produce them at a lower expense, we want to pass that on to the customer. Thanks for the feed back, and the reviews guys.

ok besides the reviews of durability and longevity I've been reading people are saying the TC drop and brake line ext. is still needed with 2.5 and there jeep is sitting idle while they try and convince you it's needed because every jeep is different or they are made to buy the items. If you send me everything that is in the 4in to keep my driveline the way it should be and the brake line ext with the 2.5 in. I'll give it a shot and order it from you right now and review it myself.

I have RC 4.5in military wrap kit installed on mine and i absolutely love it. it came with everything i needed besides 2 bolts. i did buy the kit with the extended brake lines and sway bar disconnects. it even came with extra stuff i didn't use such as track bar relocation brackets (removed track bars), transfer case drop kit (already had one installed). so for the money i paid its a great kit and rides way better than the superlift kit i had on it before.

very nice I don't wanna go that tall, the 2.5 is enough for what I'll be doing with mine. I've found a lift be it its a 2 in. Not 2.5 with good reviews that provides the TC Drop and Brake line relocation kit for under $500 ready to get that CC out ill go with RC For that 1/2 in. just waiting to see what RC has to say.

When some people have negative comments, I think most of them are aimed at the coil lifts. Specifically control arm bushings stuff like that. I do not have experience with RC yet, but I think many of the complaints are from people who like to complain. I read all the posts and no one has had any issues, so try one. I am going to buying their LA upgrade for my WJ this summer. I think most suspension companies have had issues at some point. I remember a few years back that many were complaining about RE having terrible bushing in their leaf springs and control arms, they have since then fixed that.
