Talking Square vs Round ? ! ?

Wow! I screwed up by not subscribing to my own post, and thought I never got any response!

Can not believe I stirred the pot so much, but some funny and true comments were posted, so I'm gonna give my own $0.02 worth:

1-YJer's are obiously a devout cult, which is very cool.

2-Money is better spent on performance than non-functional fluff, IMO. Personally, I don't think much of all the 10" lifted F-250's that NEVER go offroad.

3-As far as desecration, well, I never saw it that way. BUT, I think a better use of effort and $$ is the Square HID conversion kits, why keep stock headlight bulbs when you can have HID?

4-My bro has an extra '51 Willys grille he doesn't need, maybe I could figure out how to adapt it?

5-I'll ebay my T-shirt that reads: "Real Jeeps Have Round Headlights".

So if a round headlighted jeep sneaks up on a square headlighted jeep and there happens to be little jeeps from the mix, what shape are the headlights then?

Well the stronger traights of the square headlighted Jeep would of course dominate.

Actually, the fact that there are more round headlights than square, indicates that round is the dominant trait. However, a mix of the two shapes could occur, resulting in oval headlights or square headlights with pronounced rounding at the corners.

This is correct. I have spoken to a geneaologist and they have confirmed. Also, I'm sure we have all gone into the wilderness and spotted a YJ mounting a TJ.

This would truly be cool, if you took your time and did it right. I say do it.

I've seen it. When they were done, the TJ bit the YJ's head off.

This doesn't have anything to do with the whole scene in the woods does it?

nice jeep...

coil spings in a YJ...? i´ve never seen that before here in germany.
over here a 6" lifted YJ with 36s would be the biggest in the whole country...
my in your opinion small TJ is already the biggest in the whole area...

Yes, thanks to Rockkrawler.com, for providing a coilover system, and stretched wheelbase, all in one. Not a bad little toy, if I do say so myself........lol..........sitting on 42" Irok tires. Do you think I could spank a typical TJ, with this set up?..........I don't know, would be a close competition......

Not really, just don't like it when someone says something about a vehicle, that they are not familiar about. I know my Jeep is a hybrid, but still, one should not speak ill about something, unless they know what they are talking about. Case in point, look at Hackles YJ.

your rig looks much better that every other jeep here in germany... the biggest TJ here has 38s with a 6" sping lift (short arm, longarms aren´t allowed here) + 3" bodylift. all others have 35s (or smaller tires) what´s the biggest tire our law allowes on a jeep.
as i said, i only have 32s and all the people say "wow what a very big jeep". the TJs here in germany have stock 215/75r15 tires whats something about 28s...and the people with the small rubicon tires (245/75r16 whats nearly are 31s) and stock suspension do think that they have big jeeps...

Probably neck and neck. Hard to say, though. I can't believe all the money you spent on that thing and you completely overlooked upgrading the headlights to round ones.

You know, round headlights would be the first on my list of mods so that I can be just like everyone else.
