Seat belt sticking problem.

I have a 89 Sahara and the drivers side seat belt locks up a lot. This can be somewhat uncomfortable, especially when goin over bumps and suddenly it locks up and suddenly I can barely breath. Anyone with suggestions on how to smooth out the belt and get it operating properly.

Pull the retractor assembly (Not sure if that's the proper name) and grease it heavily with white lithium.

I agree...take it off and take the cover loose. Clean it out and WD40 or lithium grease.

It might. Try it. Doesn't take much to do.
