seats

How hard is it to put in different seats in a jeep. both of my front two are broken and thinkin I could get a nicer set of salvage something seats as long as I have the rizers(sp) that go with them to attach to the body of the seat. Any ideas other then factory replacements? I could get my CJ's seats but they are blue and my jeep is black

I read somewhere that Mustang seats will fit on the stock risers with very little work. Ill see if I can find the link.
Edit: Found it http://www.jeepaholics.com/tech/must...stangseats.htm

I've been looking into this also. This is the link you need....

CJ/YJ Seat swaps - JeepForum.com Community Jeep Wiki

The guy on JeepForum has been keeping this database on YJ seat swaps. When he hears of a good swap, he just adds it to the list...pretty cool. I'm liking the leather Explorer seats myself. I don't want cloth seats in my jeep.

The sliders are bolted to the frame so make sure you didn't just lose a bolt.

I know of this one company that makes all sorts of hardware for seats.

Can't think of their name off the top of my head -- they're better known for the Jeep tops though. Goodtops? OKtops? Something like that.

Page linky.

Toshpate have you checked ebay or craigslist??
I have found several on both sites myself. As for the seat replacement if you are looking at that ,I installed seats out of my 86 broncoII eddie bouer eddition. The back holes were only 1/8th inch off so I slotted the back holes and they were in. Now I sit little high but I plan on cutting the mounts down. They are extremely comfortable. Just my $0.02.
