Want to dump the old yj seats and put in something more comfortable. What has everyone else used when they did it to theirs

These seats are out of a Chrysler Pacifica mini van. They are 2nd row, reclineable, leather, w/ inner arm rests. Extremely comfortable, I would highly recommend them except for 1 minor detail. They are so thick and plush that they cause you to sit a little higher in the Jeep, and the end result is the seat belt is just barely long enough to fit.

Captain chairs, now that is comfortable. was it a pain in the ass to put those seats in? There is a section here on seat covers and some people mentioned placing seats from a Pontiac in their Jeeps. It would be nice to put some seats that will at least recline some.

Might end up cruising the junk yard and see what I can find. I'm changing everything from tan to black so might as well have comfort

I have tan and black, but went with gray and black seat covers. The tan and black ones that were out there looked to be too light and didn't look as nice. The tub is monstalined in black, so it turned out looking pretty good.

Another option is Cavalier / Sunfire seats. They are a direct bolt in, cheap, and plentiful not to mention much more comfy than the stock seats.

I paid $34 at the pullapart, got them from an 03 Cavalier. Sold the original seats for $25 on CL. For $9 seats they are nice and I don't feel like I am driving from the backseat.

So the cavi seats don't need new mounting or fab work?

I put in 03 cavalier seats into a 90 YJ. Good comfort, proper width and height, and recline! Minor fabrication with one mounting stud if I remember correctly. As mentioned above Scrap yards are overflowing with cavaliers and sunbirds(same seats)

My seats were a direct bolt in . I didn't even have to re drill any holes. Just unbolt the seats from the adjusters and bolt on the new seats. BTW use seats from a 2 door car the seat backs will tilt forward so accessing the rear of the Jeep is easier.
