Secret Compartment

I was wondering if anyone has made any kind of secret compartments in there jeeps. I was thinking of adding one or two. I need to make it hard to access and hard to find.

I want it to fit 1-2 hunting rifles or a 1911 pistol.

I want to be able to get to it from the drivers seat though. I can't really find anywhere that i could put it besides putting it under the back seat but that would not work...

I've seen black lockable boxes drawers under the drivers seat.
Your jacket.
You could cut out the factory dash speaker and slip an easy to snap off cover with a pistol behind it.

Guess that just works for lefty's though

As far as rifles. Hell if I know how you'd hide that.

Just make sure your not breaking any laws.

Btw I just thought of those sitting here reading your post.

Not exactly discreet but you could mount the rifles across the top of your roll bar. Above the driver and passenger seat. Some companies make mounts but you could also make your own by just bolting a metal bar across the top and then putting some velcro strap mounts on the bar to mount your rifles, or something like that.

Gotcha. You could rig up a mount on the back of the center console? So your rifles are going across the lower back of your driver and passenger seat?

...even though that's still not concealed at all. It's a suggestion, haha.

Haha gosh, ...well you can mount one rifle up the left main roll bar support strut (Going up beside the driver seat), and the other up the right roll bar support strut (Going up beside the passenger seat)? There's an idea!

I made a ammo can center out of 50 cal can and it will hold any size pistol you want to put in it. With that I cut a slot in the lid closer and behind it welded an eye that way when I want I can throw a pad lock on it and not have to worry about it. My can will hold a Taurus judge and a 1911 comfortably along with 100 rounds for each so plenty of space for that but rifles? Can't help on that when I have my long guns it's to go hunting or the range so never had to worry about locking them since there in a case.

Check with your State's gun laws before you accidentally illegally transport your firearm.

For instance in MD guns must be unloaded, gun in case and trunk (or as far from drive as possible if no trunk), ammo in passenger cab (away from gun).

Md law is that the ammo OR gun has to be out of reach of anyone in vehicle. That's what I always thought at least.

bc if you have the firearm with you it has to be registered in your name, and you have to be at least 18, i think even 21 in some places, to have it regitered to your name.

Weapons offenses are not something you want to get into. Big trouble. Especially with all of the gun rights stuff going on right now. Illegal transport is just one more thing that can fuel the anti's.

I know in my area you need a concealed carry permit in order to keep a loaded weapon in a car.
If its not loaded and the ammo is in a box that's different.

But when you get pulled over you are required to tell them you are armed.
Then they'll probably have you get out of the car and ask you where your gun is. DON'T SHOW THEM. Just tell them.

Cops get very nervous when someone might have a gun (and rightly so)

If the magazine is in a separate compartment or you have a CWP then you will be fine if the weapon is in a locked box

Yeah I'm jealous that you live in a free state. MD is known as "the free state" but is far from it, about to pass "assault" weapon ban. Looking to move to PA by the end of the year so I can CCW

I would join the free state project in NH, but it's too cold for me up there.

PS- I have "Live Free Or Die" tattooed on my arm as well as the Gadsden Flag, Sons Of Liberty, and some other cool Liberty themed tats. Probably getting Molon Labe next.

That's awesome. We got quite a few guns but nothing cool like that. Sounds fun.
