Selling 1990 YJ How much you think i could get for it?

1990 Jeep YJ Wrangler
Black with some rust on front fenders

I bought it for $2900 and since i bought it i replaced a few things

-New clutch, slave and master cylinders
-New fuel pump
-New Rear main seal
-New oil pan gasket
-New Valve cover gasket
-New blue bottle muffler (sounds loud but installed poorly and needs fixing)
-A few new hoses (vaccum system and power steering hose)
-Fairly new belts
It's come out to over $2000 new parts, and most of it was discounted because i work at a mechanic shop and get labour and parts really cheap.

It's got a hard and soft top, and only full steel doors, no half doors, and i currently have a Kenwood KDC-X693 head unit with a Realm amplifier and 2 Kenwood 10" slim subwoofers in it. Most everything on it works, just a couple of small things, and a solid tune up would make it run like a champ.
Overall it's in pretty good condition, could use a little body work.

I was considering selling it, but not sure how much i should ask for it.

Honestly, you might get what you paid out of it... The 2k you put into replacement parts does nothing for the value.

If the miles are below 150k you most likely can get about 4 grand for it. I paid 4600 for my 91 with 130k already lifted. But I do live in Colorado and everyone has 4wd and jeeps are like Honda's in California here.

i paid 4900 for a 94 with 186k on it but all the seals and gaskets have been replaced in the last year so the motor is bone dry and a brand new 6" suspension lift with 36" super swampers and i fell it was a fair deal

Well it's got 216,000 km on it. And it's being kept well right now, i cant speak for it's last owner, but as it is this thing will be kept running in good running condition until i get rid of it. But i figured the clutch being brand new, like literally 2 months ago i replaced it, that would make someone want this jeep, it saves people about $1200 in having to replace it themselves.

$1200 for a clutch!?!? I guess I am out of touch when it comes to paying shop prices. I just did my own with an Excedy OEM style clutch kit with the slave for under $150. Paying labor will kill a project rig budget quick.

I think it depends on where you live. Down here the jeeps seem to go for more $$$ then up north.
I just bought a 90 in great shape, like your talking about, for $4500.

I bought mine 5-6 months ago in Connecticut for $1300 needed valve seals, the gas tank leaked. But it had only a small bit of body rust, no frame rust. And a nice Bestop only a couple years old.

It's also got a few other small things to make it look nice, like custom painted interior, all tinted windows, im looking at getting new rims for it, and some new off road lights too. Im really hoping to get at least $4000 for it, and as much as i love my jeep i think im gonna need to get rid of it lol. Especially since i can barley afford to keep it. And it has a bambi basher in the front too, which i think every jeep should have, but they don't for some reason... and its got a towing kit as well, and a clifford alarm system, theres probably more i keep forgetting to mention.

You'd have better luck starting your own thread or searching the forum for your answer than resurrecting a 4+ year old thread......BUT I paid $2200 for my '90 YJ. Minor rust, seats in good condition. Hard top, full doors. Add $800 for new tires and $500-700 for a tuneup, radiator, brakes, heater blower motor, water pump, thermostat, etc. It's finally driveable and somewhat safe.

You're stating a ripped seat, yet make no mention of the motor. You also haven't even looked at this thing in person yet, but you're saying that it is in good condition. I bet you're already text negotiating with the seller.

Take your time, shop around. There are shady people trying to make a buck that try to screw people on Jeeps, so if you don't know what you're looking for take somebody with you that does to look it over. The seller is not going to save you the detective work. Once the receipt says "As is", that's it. I have seen horror stories like painted over duct tape on the rear frame hiding major rot.
