Shift Knob

I recently purchsed a 93 Wrangler YJ with automatic transmission. The previous owner had removed the stock shift knob and installed an after market knob that is really ugly and way to big. I have been able to find an shift lever with a good stock knob and would like to change it to my Jeep, but can't get it off the lever. Does anyone know how to remove the knob from the levet?

Thanks for all the information. This is a column shift and I have tried to get the end cap off but had no luck. Back to square one. I have the old knob that the PO took off and may try filling it with JB Weld and see what happens.

You could prolly find a column shift knob at the local big box parts store, in the "help" aisle.

Really you could glue just about anything on there.
