The mounts and shit need cut off and smoothed out. Chances are you'll need to do new brakes and rotors too.

They make kits with the parts you'll need for the conversion for something $150. It's not too hard. Just get a buddy to help. You'll need 2 extra hands and a day.

Be sure your 8.8 has the same ratio as your front axle and clan up the differentials good. If you've done brakes before, have a general understanding of control arms, and can set pinions it'll be easy for you.

Personally though, I can install one...but I'd probably pay a shop to do it. I'm lazy like that with axles. Plus I suck at gears. So if I mess up the pinion or the axle makes noise I have trouble figuring out what I messed up. That's just me though.

Brackets, brake lines, rotors, pads, mounts, DS adapter...sometimes new perches. A grinder and welder. Uh, clips, U-bolts, an Explorer brake line conversion kit, flange bolts alot of cutting wheels. I'm sure there's more but that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Oh yeah, and a good detailed write up online.

I would like to suggest that you hook up with a local Jeep club.

Google "North Carolina Jeep Club" and you'll find a number of them out there.
That way you'll make friends locally and this would be a perfect opportunity to get to know them.
Have an install party, you feed them and provide a place to work, and they come and give you a hand doing it. Install/lift parties are a ton of fun. The work gets done and best of all you wind up with a whole new family of friends out of the deal.
