side bars aka nerf

Anyone one ever install a set of Shrockworks side bars, the ones that have a steel plate under and bolt to it. My question si this, do you have to drill holes in your floor board? I know the web site says you need a drill to install.

Are you talking about the Shrockworks rock sliders?
Jeep YJ Rock Sliders, Rocker Guards, Rocker Protection, Rock Rails, Jeep Rock Sliders Rocker Protecion, ShrockWorks

You have to drill holes into the side and the floor of the body.

yes, but I really don't like the idea of all that drilling, maybe I will look for something else that bolts up with out a drill. Any ideas on a good set? Hey, I was in Munich for two years and all over Gremany, I liked it there.

I put the Warn Rock Sliders on my old one. They did require drilling on the outside but used the drain plug hole in the floor pans for the lower mounting. I would still recommend them even if you have to drill.

there are some bars that bolt up to the frame. but IMO these rock sliders protect the body in a better way. the others will bens if you do some real rock crawling.

These ones bolt to the frame (at the stock sidesteps mount holes ?).

Here is a picture of my old YJ with them installed. It took about an hour to install them. I sprayed some rust resistant primer on the holes that I drilled.
